What Is Your Type?

You have a type, whatever you swear. Here's which one, and what it costs you.

You'll probably like these too

About this test

People love to insist they don't have a type, moments before falling for the fifth person who resembles the previous four. A type isn't about hair colour: it's a way of being that catches you every time, and it usually says more about you than about the people involved.

The seven archetypes here aren't gendered, and that isn't a verbal precaution: independence, intensity, humour and quietness are not handed out by gender. Each of these seven shows up in everyone, and each attracts for a specific reason — it answers a need you may never have put into words.

Every result says two things: what this type gives you, and what it costs you. Both matter, because a type only becomes a problem when you refuse to look at its blind spot.

How it works

Sixteen situations, one answer each. Every answer points at one of the seven archetypes, and the one that comes up most often wins. If two profiles finish neck and neck, that usually means you're drawn to a combination — and that you rarely find it in one person.
