About this test
Most compatibility tests ask the wrong questions: star signs, favourite films, the ideal colour for a kitchen. But couples almost never split over a difference in taste. They split over money, over the division of chores, over sleep schedules, over families, over whether to have children, and over one unresolved disagreement that slowly turns into a climate.
So the eighteen questions below are entirely about your actual daily life. Answer thinking about your current relationship as it is today rather than as you hope it will become: a test filled in with the optimistic version of your couple teaches you nothing. Some questions are deliberately uncomfortable — particularly the one about five years with nothing changing, which is often the one that decides the score.
One last thing: compatibility doesn't measure love, and it isn't a prognosis. Highly compatible couples separate; badly matched couples last forty years because they learned to negotiate. What this test can do is point at the two or three subjects burning the most of your energy, and those get fixed by talking, not by retaking the test.
How it works
Each answer is worth 0 to 4 points based on how much you agree and, above all, on whether the subject has been raised at all: a discussed disagreement scores higher than an avoided one, because it costs far less over time. The total is scaled to 100.
