About this test

The hero archetypes in this test were invented for it: none comes from a film, a series, a novel or a game. They're built from what actually holds a character together in a story — a line they refuse to cross, a wound they put to work, a departure they can't stop choosing.

The fifteen questions cover three things only: power (what you do with it when it's handed to you), sacrifice (who pays, and whether you accept that it's someone else) and loyalty (what you will never forgive). Those are the three axes on which a character reveals itself in literature, and they work exactly the same way on real people.

Every result includes a structural flaw and one line on how the arc ends, because an archetype without a breaking point isn't a character, it's a poster. The Sentinel never went inside, the Keeper never acted, the Walker confuses the mission with the escape. Read that part first if you want the test to be worth anything.

How it works

Each answer points to one archetype. All six are evenly spread across the fifteen questions, so none is a default result. The percentage breakdown is the interesting part here: a solid character is almost always a main archetype paired with a second one that only appears under pressure.
